What You Can Do
Convert Canon, Nikon, Sony and more
CR2, CR3, CRW, NEF, NRW, ARW, SRF, SR2, DNG, ORF, RW2, RAF, PEF, SRW, X3F, 3FR, ERF, KDC, DCR, MRW, MOS, IIQ and RWL.
Batch a whole shoot
Convert up to 1,000 images at once into a format that opens anywhere.
Get the look your camera chose
The embedded JPEG reflects your camera's own picture style, so results look like the back of your camera.
Preview in your files
See your photos in a file browser before converting. No import step or catalog required.
Resize for delivery
Resize and compress the results in the same app when a gallery or inbox has a size limit.
Work offline
Nothing is uploaded, which matters when a shoot runs to gigabytes.
What It Doesn't Do
This is the most important thing to understand about this tool: FileHop is not a RAW developer.
- It extracts the largest JPEG embedded by your camera, not new data from the sensor. Output size depends on that embedded preview.
- There's no exposure recovery, white balance adjustment or highlight editing. For that, use Lightroom, Capture One or darktable.
- RAW files with no embedded preview only convert on Mac.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert RAW to JPG for free?
Open the folder in FileHop, select your files, and convert to JPG. You can convert up to 1,000 images in one batch.
Does converting RAW to JPG lose quality?
JPG is a compressed format, so it holds less editing data than RAW. FileHop's output is the JPEG your camera already produced, so it matches the camera's own rendering.
Why does my RAW look different in other apps?
A RAW file has no fixed look. Each app develops the sensor data in its own way. FileHop skips that step and uses the JPEG your camera embedded.
Can I recover highlights or fix white balance?
No. FileHop doesn't process RAW sensor data. Use a RAW developer such as Lightroom or darktable for those edits.
Which cameras are supported?
Most major brands, through formats including CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, DNG, ORF, RW2, RAF and PEF. Files need an embedded preview, which nearly all cameras write.
Can I convert to PNG or HEIC instead?
Yes. Batch conversion also offers PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and HEIC.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Everything runs on your computer and works offline.
Does it work on Mac and Windows?
Yes. Normal RAW files convert the same way on both.
